Guide: Lifeproof Anytime Bag

I’m a graphic designer and comic artist. I typically use Guide as a commute and convention bag. I draw comics the old-fashioned way, by hand on paper, and I take my drawings with me to events all over the world, including Tokyo, San Diego, etc. I’m also usually carrying my iPad Pro or laptop, so avoiding any leaks is the feature I would say is the most important to me. I didn’t truly believe the bag was going to be waterproof at first. I’ve had so-called “waterproof” slings before, but they’re not actually entirely waterproof. So I did a test with some paper, and realized it was in fact completely waterproof. The zipper being tight also gives me a sense of security that it is indeed waterproof.

I was looking for a backback for work but also something I could take on trips. The insert system takes things to the next level - excellent design.

I purchased the Agency and Core from REI in Laguna Hills. I am a bag enthusiast! I own Peak Design, Alpaka, Chrome Industries, Fjallaraven, Bellroy and several other boutique brands. I appreciate innovative design and the Agency bags are extremely unique. I am a modular bag person and use various packing cubes to enable me to switch between my various bags. Been using the bag non stop since I purchased it. I have used the Core to carry my MacBook Pro (13 inch) with iPad 11 inch in the back pocket of the Core and outside of the Core I have an Orbit leather planner, hard cover notebook, Kindle Scribe, battery pack, and a book. Outside of the Guide I have hung an AirTag and a Nite-ize s-binder. Received plenty of questions from others who have seen me bring it to my meetings and at the cigar lounge. I also took the bag to the beach for a few hours to work remotely out of my truck and it kept my laptop and tablet safe and sound. I represent various brands and travel a lot for my clients. I am looking forward to putting this bag through the paces of travel across 12 cities (we have 12 teams) over the next 4 months.

Bought as a PC bag on in-person office days, but moonlights as a dry bag on kayak weekends! The zipper reminds me of my YETI cooler and has the same tight closure. Will you make other colors in the future?

When I first backed your project, I really liked the concept and I wanted to try it out without having a concrete use case for it, so when it arrived, even though I loved the craftsmanship and design, it didn’t really add to my collection of different bags, something I felt kind of sad about. I really did like it, but I also wanted to use it. When I learned about the insert products, that changed, because the dedicated laptop compartment immediately intrigued me. At the same time I backed Guide, I also backed a project for a modular backpack, and those guys - unlike you - never delivered and ran with the money. So, Core came in as something I really needed. Now I find myself using it almost everyday, especially because it’s waterproof. I also love that I can take the Core module out. I also tested Vista last weekend and used it to store my sportswear after a run through the forest, letting out the air and rolling it to reduce its size and that worked really well for storing it inside my gym bag. So, all in all, it’s a really great experience and I enjoy the product much more now than initially. I realise that for other people, other standards apply, but for me, it’s a great improvement to a high-quality product.

Bought this for WFO. The design is what caught my attention at first, but decided to purchase because 1). The Core Insert fits my laptop + can be used as a quick carry case for meetings and 2). The waterproof zipper for my bike rides in.

My brother loves his gift!! He already is using it for his remote working days at a co-working space, and he's looking forward to having some fun with it out on the river in the spring. Thank you!

We just got back from a trip to Montana. First impressions: the zipper on these things is no joke. It feels like real quality. We live full-time out of a small truck, so every item we carry has to earn its place. Durability, weatherproofing, and multi-use functionality are huge pluses. The setup hits all of that. We especially like how adaptable the gear is. Use it for carrying tech, throwing in dirty hiking clothes or moving around in unpredictable weather. The overlanding space is full of people looking for gear that holds up to real travel but doesn’t feel overly bulky or overbuilt.

Everyone is so excited and thrilled with their bags! The family and my brother/ nephew used theirs very carefully as a prized possession. We love ours too but put both bags of ours to the test! They have been perfect for boat transfers (always water at bottom) and for this wading to a sand bar. We took them on every single excursion briefly submerged them and splashed them . Kept all our valuable electronics safe! They are awesome !

I usually travel with a travel backpack like the peak design and a suitcase or a roller. I also have the new peak design roller, lol — but my point is I always need a smaller backpack when I get there to carry just my laptop and stuff that I’m using for working that day — so the big sell for me on this is that I can put it in my suitcase and use it at my destination. It’s something you could actually feature more on your site. Although you kinda do. But that was the hook for me personally. I’m not a big outdoors person although I do love the beach

It was completely waterproof, so I felt safe taking it to the pool. Absolutely amazing.

This is the perfect slim profile, everyday carry bag! Fits my 16" MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and a bunch of other small-ish things... i can even fit my heavy-duty rain shell in it when i fold it flat! Great quality. I'm really impressed.

My MacBook goes everywhere I go. Now I can trust that it will always be water tight. This is such a great bag. So happy to have this in my rotation.

I’ve been using it on my commute for a couple of days. It’s good—I’d give it a B+. There are zero internal pockets, just one big compartment. I know that could weaken its water resistance, but at least a separate laptop pocket would be nice. UPDATE: The Core insert is my answer to what I was looking for. I can't update my review score tho.
