What We Do
Agency creates lifeproof anytime bags that protect the essentials. We eliminate friction between the everyday and the outdoors to empower an active life of your own design. Our bags combine protection with style to make it easier to get outside, more often.
The Inspiration
We studied in Tokyo during college. We’d grab our laptops and head to school, go for a run, or explore the city. It would rain, suddenly. Our bags were messy, bulky and not stylish. That friction made it difficult to live an active life on our own terms.
What We Realized
The boundaries between daily and active life are fluid. Our devices are always with us, but are expensive and vulnerable. Standard bags don’t protect, roll-top dry bags are hard to access, and hard cases are bulky. Style is an afterthought. Being forced to choose protection or style limits options.
Creating Something New
We designed Guide to make the transition between daily and active life as smooth as possible. Airtight zipper. Streamlined design. Backpack, crossbody, messenger or tote carry. Welded for durability. Modular inserts for organization. Only weighs about one pound.
A Kick-Start
It took 15 months of development, but we made the adaptable backpack we wanted. We decided to validate via crowdfunding. Our Kickstarter beat the fundraising goal by 977%, earned the support of 400+ people and received the "Project We Love" award.
Expanding Our Impact
Since then, we've secured patent protection, expanded our product lineup and partnered with REI Laguna Hills. Our products are enjoyed in 50 countries. We will continue to innovate carrywear and connect more people to the power of their own Agency.
SUSTAINABILITY
Environmentally Aware
Our bags are built for long-term use with durable, cleanable materials. We use PFAS-free TPU-coated nylon instead of PVC, and mono-material kraft paper and cardboard instead of single-use plastic packaging.
PHILANTHROPY
Giving Back Locally
We partner with Laguna Canyon Foundation, a non-profit that leads conservation and protection of the South Coast Wilderness. We promote thoughtful outdoor engagement at community events hosted by REI Laguna Hills.
SOCIAL IMPACT
Living with Agency
We support people taking action to better themselves. We partner with the University of California, Irvine and Orange Coast College to provide short-term internships to individuals from diverse and underserved communities.
